Our Service:
  • Provides information, advice and support to adult and young carers in Bristol and South Gloucestershire
  • A focal point for carers issues, working with professionals and other partners to make life better for carers
  • Involves carers in the planning and development of services
  • Listens to carers, managed by carers and former carers
  • Trains and supports volunteers and members of the community to help carers

Carersline
A confidential information and advice service
(Access to interpreters available)

Share With A Carer
Out of hours telephone support for carers.

 Newsletter Quarterly, information about services and news affecting carers locally and nationally, and contact with other carers. Includes events diary.

Carers support Officers

Home visits, offering advice, information and emotional support to all carers. Advice on benefits, community care assessments and advocacy,
liaise with and refer carers to relevant local and national services.

Carers Training and Events
Range of events and training, both during the day and evening.

Carers Emergency Card
In case carers are involved in an accident or suddenly taken seriously ill, to ensure necessary arrangements are put in place for replacement care.

Local Carers Groups
Regular support groups across South Glos

Carers Advisory Network
A voice for carers, to influence planning of local health and social care services Training and support to attend meetings to speak out on behalf of carers.

 

Break for Carers
Volunteer sitting service, providing regular short breaks. 
Other breaks available include holidays, day trips and events.

Rural Project
Providing outreach support to carers in rural areas

Learning Difficulties worker
Support specifically for carers of someone with a Learning Difficulty

Primary Care GP Liaison, Advice and Information
Information and advice service in GP practices, engaging primary care staff, to identify carers and signpost them to support services.

Young Carers
Support for Young Carers, including if caring for parents with substance and alcohol misuse issues.
