Description of service provided

Age Concern South Gloucestershire provides a free and confidential advice service on welfare and benefits and assistance with the completion of benefit application forms. Appointments for a home visit are readily available.

 

Talks and presentations can be arranged for groups and a number of advice surgeries are held regularly around the county.

Other services that we provide include our Information and Advice ‘helpline,’ open four mornings a week, Mon.-Thur. Computer training on a ‘one to one’ basis at selected libraries or once a week at our office in Thornbury. We provide volunteer befrienders for people who have little or no social contact, we can provide ‘Day Care’ at three different locations for people referred to us through their GP’s or through Social Care services. We are also able to undertake home and garden maintenance for older people through our Practical Services. We arrange insurance services for the over 50’s that generate income to help support the work of our organisation. You can arrange an appointment to discuss your insurance needs with our arranger by just phoning our office.
